And now, for confession time with Blue. I completely forgot all about these interludes and the fact that they exist. So my first thought was 'Huh? Where's the title page for the next chapter?' And then I read the author's comment and realized what a dingus I was.
I've mentioned how lovely it is to see Kaleal (correct me if I spelled her name wrong) handling Hizruk's 'disappearance' like this - willing to listen and sure there's a reasonable explanation. She's hurt, but she's not angry. Just disappointed, and she's still trying to bridge the perceived gap. A VERY nice change when you look at how Gwynn and Hizruk are treating Merek for essentially the same kind of thing.
And I still think her influence is likely what will push Hizruk to finally listen to Merek and give him a chance to explain himself. Not that I expect the explanation to go particularly well - Merek has this self-punishment thing down to a science. But I'm looking forward to it nonetheless and I hope for bridges to finally start being mended.
Kiddo Hizruk has the floofiest hair, I swear. It's doing that runaway poofy cowlick thing and I adore it so much. Absolute cuties, the pair of them.
I'm assuming the whole crying/promise/cheek kiss is a sequence that happened when Kaleal learned that she had to leave for schooling? That'd make sense. It always hurts to leave your friends. Gosh darn it, she's a cute little thing. Kind of a silly headband though. Oh well. XD

Nice to see Kaleal's parents and why the HECK can I not remember her dad's name? Neru? Maybe? Rrrrgh, in any case, it's nice to see them looking happy - albeit understandably sad to see their daughter sailing off into the blue. Liking Seraphine's arm around her husband's waist; see? She cares. XD
Gwynn wearing a ponytail? WHAT MADNESS IS THIS? You have two hairstyles, stop changing it. XD Nah, I kid, it looks good on her.
I'm just gonna appreciate Merek for a couple of seconds here... as you do.... yes. Okay. I'm good now. Well done.
And that final aaaaalmost merged into one line of panels at the bottom.... perfection. I love it, this is such a cute page. Well done.
And I take it the first panel is grown-up Kaleal's letter she's in the middle of writing? Nice little desk setup there, from what I can see. I'm appreciating her use of a fountain pen (yes, I know, literally everyone in this universe probably uses them but I don't care, I appreciate it anyway) and I'm always a fan of legible cursive. Really lovely.
And last but not least, kiddo Hizruk smiling all over the place. I gotta stick my heart in the fridge now; it's melting all over the place.
