I appreciate the visuals you used to imply the torture without actually showing it. Very tasteful <3

Yeesh. It's surprising he somehow ended up being allowed back into the city, let alone be made an Umbra again after all that.

Wow. Merek is beyond blessed. But how in the world did they even allow him to be an unbra again? I mean, they don’t see very forgiving. He did do the ultimate no no.

You know, I’ve been thinking about this comic a lot and it reminds me of Avatar: The Last Airbender and Attack On Titan. I’m sure you know Atlab, but if you haven’t heard of Attack on Titan, it’s this manga/anime about the last of humanity being protected behind walls so they won’t get eaten by titans, which in this universe are being that look almost human, but are much larger and creepier. The main characters learn how to fight the titans, but it doesn’t matter to me, because they are the last of humanity, and titans are all over the world (supposedly), so they’ll never be able to kill all of the world’s titans. So, what’s the point?

Aang, Sokka, Katara, and Zuko in Atlab are fighting against a totalitarian, oppressive regime that has existed for 100 years, and it’s nearly impossible for them to win. It runs too deep, and they have to impose radical change for things to get better. And if they lose, they die. Basically, the fans know these characters have no choice but to change the status quo by the end of the series. Serpents is similar in that Hizruk, Merek, and Keymen are fighting against a tyrannical regime, but there is really no where to run, and the poison runs so deep that everything about their lives will have to be radically changed in order for peace and equality to be restored. It’s nearly impossible for them to win, and they also have to change the status quo by the end of the story. And outside of their walls are humans. They see the humans as the titans, and the serpents have created their own society to keep themselves safe from humans, just like the humans with the titans. And they can’t possibly kill every human on the planet, so they’re either going to have to continue living only amongst themselves in fear or learn how to get along with humans,

Basically, I’m saying that things are going to change. They have to. I want so badly to know how we are going to get to that point of radically change, and how much of a part each of these characters will play in it. Keymen definitely has something up his sleeve, and I’m dying to know!

You have created a beautiful story here, Serps. I’m so excited! How will the status quo change??!!!!!! I can’t take it anymore, lol! ☺️☺️☺️☺️

Haha I think Hiz is gonna be asking a VERY similar question here soon...and we will know! :3

First of all I'm STOKED to hear you been thinking about the comic hehe <3. But it's really cool to hear your reasoning here in regards to Avatar and Attack on Titan. I'm not Familiar with Attack on Titan at all, but I think you know how much I love AtLA!
They do share this thing in common----change is in the air and it's going to happen! Now to see if it will end up worse or better for everyone X"D

Thank you so much Alston!! I'm excited to share more of the story with you guys!!! <3333

Zara is a very cool character design!

I wonder what their logic was in sparing his life? Hoping he'd suffer a slow death on his own? Or it'd be better to make him live in shame?

Haha Council logic doesn't always seem very sound at first x"D

I'd say the easiest answer and also the most complicated is..politics XD. I mean that's why MOST things don't get done, amiright?? X"D

Dang... I'm taking some guesses at what forms of torture they put Merek through; is he dangling in a waterfall by his wrists? Pouring boiling water on him??? D: I want to know and also don't want to know!

HeSerpenty

Haha almost! Thankfully it's not BOILING water :'D lolol but it was mentioned back in long chapters passed..the water closet where they chain up a beaten prisoner and leave them to dangle as water constantly pounds on them and their wounds--- it's pretty awful. Just imagine that icy cold water all relentless and harsh :'D

NOW YOU KNOW! Want it or not! Lolol
